Blog Free Choice:Week 13
The book Room is getting very interesting as I am reading throughout the novel. As I was reading the novel Room I was very shocked about the whole Jack and his Ma escaping from the Room. I was thinking Jack was going to get caught by Old Nick if he coughs or moved and the truck in Ma was going to end up getting killed By Old Nick. Ma has figured out a plan and Jack had to do it there plan was Jack had to pretend he was Sick when Old Nick gets home in Old Nick was going to put him into his Truck to take him to the hospital in when Old Nick stop at a stop sign Jack had to get out the car in run than show someone on the sidewalk a note his mother wrote so they can call the Police in than the police was going to Save Ma by shooting or breaking the door down. Although, I couldn’t even put the book down because the novel was getting so good to where there was stuff actually happening. I really think there should be a movie called Room because the novel is really good and I think alot of people would want to see a movie based on a mother in her five year old son living in a Room in trying to escape. The movie should be plotting points that are similar to the novel. Finally, Jack has did the plan just right like his mother told him and he has made his mother so happy in I was very happy in shocked as well because now Jack is able to see what the real world looks like.

Guided Response 12
Discuss your ideas about the main character. Is the character worthy of praise or criticism? Why?
My Opinion about Jack who is the main character and the novel Room by Emma Donoghue. I think His ma needs to have a younger sibling for him so he can have someone to play with and watch television with so he won’t have to do those two things by himself anymore. Jack needs to go out to see how the real world is because certain things he watches on television is unreal. Alot of things he say in the novel is very awkward in funny at times it seems to me that he doesn't know if certain things are real or fake. I think he watches too much television and the room because certain things he says ive year olds don’t suppose to say. Also, his ma needs to put him into a school close by Old Nick house so he can get an education because he seems very smart to be only five years old. As I was reading, his ma had to correct him from saying a couple of things most of the time because he said it the wrong way but that’s what parents are for to help out so ma tells him how to say it correctly. When he gets into school I’m sure he will have much better speaking skills and grammar skills as he reach higher grade levels. Jack is criticism because the description the authors choose for Jack is very annoying because I know most five year olds don’t talk the way author said they do. Example, most five year olds do have smart mouths such as talking back to there parents.

Guided Response :Week 10
The novel “Room,” is based on the point of view of the narrator, a 5-year-old boy named Jack who lives in his physical world. He lives with his mother an 11-by-11-foot room. He will be there his entire life with his mother against her will. To me it seems like they are living the prison life. Jack does not seem trapped about being in the same room with his mother all day. Around the room jack mother assigned him to read, exercise and sing so he can have something to do around the room. He also sleeps, eats, baths, learn and play. He gave his mother a nickname which he called her Ma. His mother gives him a present and it was wrapped with rule paper in a purple ribbon around it. Jack mother was an artist when he was sleep she put the light on him and drew him. She surprises him when he wakes up, by showing him all the pictures she has drawn and he reacts as if he likes them he wanted to hang them up but, he couldn’t. I learn how he lives in the room and how he spends his days. At night Jack sleeps and Wardrobe to hide from Old Nick the man who brings him and his mother food in has captive his ma for several years. I really think that she is getting tired of living that life style. Jack has never been anywhere in the world except in the room. He is getting older I think he should be able to see what life is like in the real world. Although, I Don’t think this book is for sensitive readers. I recommend this book to young adults because this is a great book in I think they will like it.

Week 9: Free Choice Blog.
I am very excited about reading the book Room: A Novel by Emma Donoghue for my reading 104 class. I will end up buying the book or renting it from the ICC's library or any other library in Peoria. Furthermore My own opinion, I think this book is going to be very interesting I also, think that the book is based on girls stories/situations from the title of the book and a lot of the situations will end up happening only in the room. Also, it might be a main character that is a girl and is very shy in going through some trials and tribulations in life where the readers can relate to some of the situations because they might have been through the same thing. I chose to read the novel Room because my reading teacher Stephanie recommended it to the class. She had to read it because she was in a book club and she was telling us how good the book is. She really encouraged me to read it. Although, I enjoy reading different books especially drama books and stories based on real life situations. Me and my friend Amy who is in my reading class as well we both are going to read the book Room and we have been talking about the book all today were both excited, we will have a page count were we both will read the same pages on the same day and have a group discussion about the book along with the other girls in our reading class..

Free Choice: Week 7.
The book Liar by Justine Larablestier is getting very interested as I am reading throughout the novel. The issues that the text tackle was Micah don’t know who she really is in her life feels out of control. There were issues dealing with race, gender and teenage life. Micah is African American, she wears natural and short hair and her mother is white. Police officers, students, teachers, Micah parents, counselors in including Micah are trying to find out who really killed Zach. I never knew if she was lying or telling the truth but, Micah tells us over and over again throughout the novel at least some of the stories she tells isn’t true. When Micah was turning into a wolf I was thinking that is unbelievable, a person who is human turning into a wolf I thought to myself (funny) right.. Micah wouldn’t be trustworthy around people and people wouldn’t want to hang around her because she lies alot. She have to take her birth control pills once every morning and her father in brother Jordan reminds her to take it in she gets very irritated by them.. There were alot of secrets Zach didn’t tell Sarah which is his real girlfriend. Although, I had a very understanding of teenagers and some of the issues they deal with growing up as young adults. She had problems trying to fit in at school and at home as well. Then there's another issue were a girl name Erin who runs away in students thought she was dead ,who's boyfriend get arrested Next She's pregnant or diseased and thinks she married in she's only 14 years old that is vey pitiful.

Free Choice: Week 5
The novel Liar by Justine Larbalestier is a very good novel you will not even want to put it down. The novel uses English languages which relates to our everyday life. There were an issue about the text that really confused me was the After,Before, Family History and etc. The main character was Micah an African American, who was a senior and High School, a compulsive liar and she dated a guy name Zach, She loved Biology. Micah determined she will stop lying but it’s hard because she needs to keep lying to protect her family secret. When she first started her new high school she let people think she was a boy even her teacher in she told students that she was a born a hermaphrodite. One day a counselor comes in and says that Zach body has been found that turns her life upside down. So, one day Micah wears a mase because Zach have been absent from class for a few days and she haven’t seen him nowhere around.
Zach real girlfriend name is Sarah who cries eveytime someone says his name. She really loved and cared about him. Lastly, Micah father is black who always reminds her in the morning to take her pill which irritates her alot and her mother is white, the way she talks is embarrassing. Micah has a brother name Jordan who finds away to get on her her nerves most of the time he sneaks into her room and touch her things and steals Zach's sweater.

Guided Response: Week 4
Author: Steve Harvey
Title: Act like a Lady Think Like a Man
Author: Steve Harvey
This book is about Steve Harvey giving advice to young female teenagers who are beginning the cycle of dating and women married/divorced with kids and about how man think and why men do what they do when it comes to relationships. It’s truly an eye-opener. Women that encounter long term relationships dealing with mama's boys, marriage and when to introduce men to children's in one's life. Steve Harvey talked about how men distinguish the marrying types and the play things. There were several of his examples are with divorced women with kids. This book will give you ideas on what parts you will need to work on in your relationship. Although he made some good points, about why men cheat and the ninety-day rule: getting the respect you deserve. The five questions every woman should ask a man to determine how serious he is.
I would recommend this book to every woman across the world who is married /divorced or in a relationship because it gives great advice about men ,not adjusting women to read it because they are having problems with their man this could help in the near future with your relationship.
I would change one element of the story in that will be how Steve Harvey talked about how a man introduce a woman as his baby mama or lady ,In other words you will have a title that how you know you are special in his heart but I'm sure every woman knows this because this is common sense.
